Academic Syllabus


Education is a life – long journey and the School realizes the importance of a good start. It is here that the foundation for the love of learning is laid and strengthened. At the Junior School level, the School expects the students to entrench the basics and explore the world. They learn to question, analyze, classify and communicate their perceptions. An unconventional system of education is adopted by the School where education is imparted through play-way methods and concepts are taught via origami, clay modelling, sand play, pottery and painting.

A suitably designed child- centered curriculum based on phonetics, provides the children with a strong foundation of spelling and vocabulary. The entire course establishes and strengthens vital skills like motor and reading skills, language and communication skills, writing and number concepts. Bridging the gap between the nurturing environment of home and the disciplined demands of formal education and inculcating the values among the children is the primary goal of the School. Teachers enrich the curriculum through music, art, library and computer programs. The students also learn about the significance of festivals and are encouraged to imbibe Indian values in their lives.


The curriculum ensures special inputs for the students adept at any field from Languages, Mathematics, Science and Technology or Performing Arts. It takes care of the increasing range of opportunities and the astounding variety of careers opening up due to the phenomenal developments. The third language offered takes into consideration new economic trends and changing geo-political phenomena.

Every moment is an opportunity to learn and classrooms turn into laboratories and playgrounds with the aided element of fun. Thus, while basic principles and theories are taught in the classroom, this is not the only arena in which academic instruction takes place. Students learn from experience and analysis. Scientific temperament is honed and our practices ensure that students never hesitate to question a statement or clarify a doubt.

A great deal of emphasis is placed on ‘one-on-one’ teaching and interaction with people eminent in diverse fields. The low teacher-student ratio allows each student to be treated as an individual.


The Senior Wing of the school strives to maintain excellence in academics to enable the students to stand at par in today’s competitive world. The conformity with the CBSE-CCE pattern ensures the holistic development of the students encapsulating scholastic and co-scholastic aspects including Life-Skills, Attitudes and Values, Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education. The prime focus is to bring forth innovation in teaching-learning methodologies by devising student friendly and student centered paradigms. In addition to academics, emphasis is laid on dexterity, innovation, steadiness, teamwork, athletics, public speaking, behavior etc.

This in turn provides opportunities to the students to showcase their talents in fields like Arts, Humanities, Sports, Music etc.

These three words help us to define and shape our goals and develop an individual and independent solving skills . Education in the words of Swamy Vivekanand is education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased and intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on his own feet”. We will imbibe and inculcate this among children. The team of well experienced and extremely qualified staff is recruited professionally to attract the best talent possessing the required skills. Under the guidance of our most capable teachers, the students embark on the voyage to become wholesome individuals.


The teachers at Patashala go through several hours of workshops and training programs to be in sync with the latest developments in their particular subjects and other levels. The workshops are conducted by all the departments on a regular basis and empower the Patashala facilitators. Some of the recent workshops have themes focused on ‘Effective Teaching Skills’, CCE training, Training on the different labs and its implementation with respect to the classroom.

Apart from external resource persons, the school faculty Members are encouraged to conduct collaborative workshops wherein each member of the department puts forth her contribution.


The world definitely stretches beyond the boundaries of a text book and we at Patashala advocate just that. Extra activities running parallel to academics are our mission to accomplish holistic education of our students. Study tours form an integral part of our programme as these intend to break down the set structures created by classroom teaching, exposing our students to a reality outside their limited experience so that they may learn to cope with unexpected difficulties and in the process mature eg:, home for the ages, collecting money in cash and kind for charitable purposes etc for supplying hearing aids


The Morning Assembly adorned by the Special Presentations is an essential part of the School schedule. Each section has its own special day to conduct the assembly with the help of their Class Teacher in the course of the academic year. It helps in exposing each student to both Indian and other world cultures through celebrations of days such as Gurupoornima, Diwali, Dussehra, Christmas, Mahavir Jayanti etc. The Assembly is an opportunity for displaying the inexhaustible talent of students. It fosters the spirit of group activity and team work, leadership and value building. It also acknowledges the efforts of the silent learners in the class who are equally participative in organizing the school assembly.


Sportspersons are not born but made.

Sports impart health and capability of mind in a practical manner on the Playground.

At Patashala Sports and Games is an integral part of Education.

Some of the Sporting Facilities include:

Indoor activities like chess, caroms etc. Outdoor like Basketball Courts, Badminton Courts, 200 meter Athletic Track, Skating Rink, Facilities for Football & Cricket.

Playground is a place of transformation and the nerve centre of all activities. In addition to general physical development, it is here that they learn to become performers, achievers, decision makers and leaders. They are some role models for other children as they are admired, applauded and followed. The Sports achievers are perceived as daring, driven by passion. Karate, taekwondo(self defense) etc.


Classical Dance (Indian & Western), Modern Dance (Indian & Western), Choreography, Direction, Instrumental Music (Indian and Western) is all interwoven into the fabric of our Educational experience.

Dance is an ideal means of communication to express what is too deep, too fine for words. Lessons in Indian and Western music generate rich cross cultural exposure and sensitize the students to this fine art.

Our mission is to bridge dance practice to foster interdisciplinary inquiry. As a trained faculty, we bring a challenging range of perspectives to our teaching.
